It's a common dilemma: you've poured effort into creating a compelling Google Slides presentation, but how do you share it effectively beyond a live audience? Many users wonder if they can record their slides directly. The short answer is yes, and you don't need complex software to do it. Let's explore the best methods for recording your Google Slides, making them accessible anytime, anywhere.
You can record presentations on Google Slides, but the process and features come with some limitations and challenges.
● Browser and Account Restrictions: Recording is only supported in Chrome and Edge browsers and may only be available for certain Google Workspace (work or school) accounts.
● Recording Time Limit: Each recording is limited to 30 minutes.
● Storage: You must have sufficient Google Drive storage; if you exceed your quota, you cannot create new recordings.
● Audio and Video Quality: It may not provide professional-grade audio or video quality.
Step 1. Install the app on your Windows or Mac devices.
Step 2. Open Google Slides.
Step 3. Click the red Record button.
Step 4. Click the red button again to stop recording.
Step 1. Open your presentation in Google Slides using either Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browser.
Step 2. In the top-right corner, click the Rec button, then select Record new video from the dropdown menu.
Step 3. Start recording.
Step 4. When finished, click stop. Then pause and click Save to Drive.
Yes, with the built-in recording feature you can record yourself. Just grant the permission for webcam when you start recording.
Requirements and Limitations:
● Available only for Google Workspace users.
● Limited to 30 minutes per session.
1. Browser Compatibility
The recording feature only works in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browsers.
2. Account Type Restrictions
Google Workspace accounts, such as Business Standard, Enterprise, or Education Plus can use the recording feature easily.
Personal Google accounts or unsupported Workspace tiers may not have access to recording
3. Access Required
You must have editing permissions on the Google Slides file to create a recording. View-only or comment-only access will block it.
4. Storage Quota
If your Google Drive storage is full or exceeded, you cannot create new recordings because they are saved directly to your Drive.
5. Mobile Devices Not Supported
The recording feature is only available on desktop versions.
